Our Work
We are active in the world working for its transformation. And that it is something no one can do alone.

Events
In 2019 we celebrated 100 years of Threefolding and 100 years of Waldorf pedagogy all around the world. The section for social science initiated and contributed to various events that showed the relevance and necessity of the Threefold social order (TSO) for all parts of social life. The highlight was the celebration of 100 years TSO in Stuttgart. With Soul of Europe, first in the political capital of Europe, Brussels, and the Social Initiative Forum in Sekem, the Section aimed to establish and maintain its connections with the political, social and economic world.
Lectures
During the year 2019, Gerald Häfner gave around 120 lectures addressing today’s challenges. Some of the topics were: democracy, individual responsibility, identity, associative economy and self knowledge and leadership. The celebration for 100 years Threefolding was the highlight of the year which was marked by (re)establishing human connections.
Countries visited
In the last year the section was present in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Hungary, Finnland, Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.
Projects
The section initiates and organises projects or cooperates with partners on concrete projects. A selection of our projects is shown here.

The World Goetheanum Association is a worldwide forum oriented towards the future development of people and the earth. It brings together partners from all fields of life, such as agriculture, education, medicine, art, trade and banking. Partners can be companies, institutions and self-employed persons. They are represented in the Association through a responsible contact person.

How do we want to shape the world? The question sounds presumptuous. But it is very real: It is us who poison the soil, the air and water, oppress people and produce wealth alongside poverty. And it is us who can change this. No one else. Initiated in the times of the pandemic, I want to get to know sustainable thoughts for a new world and share these with the video-podcast. To do this, I am meeting people and asking them: How do we want to shape the world?
The language of the videos is German.

The World Social Initiative Forum (WSIF) is an initiative of people who recognize the need for a holistic approach to life with a worldwide perspective. It provides a platform for individuals and organizations to come together – especially those who are working to relieve poverty, injustice, and inequality – to help create sustainable communities.

A recurring conference within the Social Sciences Section of the School of Spiritual Science, the Economics Conference of the Goetheanum is a worldwide research community that seeks to understand business, finance and economics on the basis of Rudolf Steiner’s national economics course and related writings.

Under the name Economics of Mutuality (Ökonomie der Brüderlichkeit) and initiated by the Confoedera-Fördervein, numerous Swiss organizations including the Section for Social Sciences hold biennial conferences at the Goetheanum to look afresh at questions of money, land, property and other aspects of modern economic life. The aim is to describe and develop modern forms of economic mutuality (taking what Rudolf Steiner called an ‘associative’ approach) and to deepen the practical experience of the participants through exchange.

Soul of Europe is a cycle of conferences that take place in different European countries once a year with the aim of investigation of the being of Europe, its soul, tasks and problems.

The congress Festival will take place from the 17th to the 20th of June 2021 in Bochum. The goal: to be active together with many initiatives, projects and organizations for a just, sustainable and solidary change.
